World Of Warcraft or WoW is the biggest and the most popular MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game). The game was developed and published by Blizzard Entertainment and it was released in 2004. Since then 5 expansions have been released each one continuing the story of the game.

The action takes place in the world of Azeroth, a fictitious land of humans, orcs and many more playable races and non-playable creatures. The plot of WoW is an extension of the original Warcraft games plot, published by Blizzard Entertainment. A vicious fight between The Alliance and the horde (the 2 fractions from which the player is able to choose when playing) for territory, honor and glory.


World Of Warcraft is an MMORPG. It is were players control a character that they custom create exploring the world of Azeroth either killing monsters, questing, killing other players and much more. The game requires an on going subscription to play using direct debit or pre-paid cards from stores. There is many different variants of game play, theses are PVE, PVP, RP and RP-PVP. Each of these adds a whole different element to the game for players which allows them to play the game in a different fashion and at different levels. You can create as many characters as you want but may only allocate 10 to a server.

PVE is player versus environment. This is were players team up and take on instances and raids to kill the end boss of the expansion and to obtain better gear for your character. There is three main roles you can choose in PVE and they are Tank, Healer or Damage. Each role requires a different responsibility and are all required.


The Alliance races started out as Human, Dwarf, Night Elf and Gnome. Since the arrival on The Burning Crusade the Draenei race was added for the alliance faction to choose. In Cataclysm the wolf race Worgen was added into the game giving alliance a whole different character type for them to play. In Mists of Pandaria the Pandaren race was added for both factions to choose making it the fist cross faction race in the game still remains the only one.


The Horde is the second faction in the game. The major Races include Orcs, Trolls, The Undead Forsaken, and Taurens. The Blood elves were introduced as a playable race in the expansion The Burning Crusade and the Goblins were introduced in the Cataclysm Expansion. The Mists of Pandaria expansion brought with it the Pandaren Race which is available for both factions.


Vanilla (before expansion):


A versatile class capable of fulfilling each role in game. They able to specialise into 4 different trees.

Balance: a ranged damage class

Feral: a close quarters rogue like fighter that focusing on transforming into a large cat like creature

Guardian: this is the tanking specialisation that uses a bear form

Restoration: the healing tree


A heavy hitting damage class that utilises pets.

Beast master: A master of the wild who can tame a wide variety of beasts to assist him in combat.

Marksmanship: A master archer or sharpshooter who excels in bringing down enemies from afar.

Survival: A rugged tracker who favors using animal venom, explosives, and traps as deadly weapons.


A range damage class that specialise in burst and area of effect damage.

Aracane: Manipulate the arcane, destroying enemies with overwhelming power.

Fire: Ignite enemies with balls of fire and combustive flames.

Frost: Freezes enemies in their tracks and shatters them with Frost magic.


A versatile class that can fulfill a variety of roles.

Holy: Invokes the power of the Light to protect and heal.

Protection: Uses Holy magic to shield him/herself and defend allies against attackers.

Retribution: A righteous crusader who judges and punishes opponents with weapons and Holy magic.


Primarily used in a healing role but are also capable of high damage.

Discipline: Uses magic to shield allies from taking damage as well as heal their wounds.

Holy: A versatile healer who can reverse damage on individuals or groups and even heal from beyond the grave.

Shadow: Uses sinister Shadow magic, especially damage-over-time spells, to eradicate enemies.


A class that relies on stealth to deal high damage.

Assassination: A deadly master of poisons who dispatches victims with vicious dagger strikes.

Combat: A swashbuckler who uses agility and guile to stand toe-to-toe with enemies.

Subtlety: A dark stalker who leaps from the shadows to ambush unsuspecting prey.


Primarily a damage class but is capable of strong healing spells.

Elemental: A spellcaster who harnesses the destructive forces of nature and the elements.

Enhancement: A totemic warrior who strikes foes with weapons imbued with elemental power.

Restoration: A healer who calls upon ancestral spirits and the cleansing power of water to mend allies' wounds.


A heavy damage class that utilise demonic minions.

Affliction: A master of shadow magic who specializes in drains and damage-over-time spells.

Demonology: A master of demonic magic who transforms into a demon and compels demonic powers to aid him/her.

Destruction: A master of chaos who calls down fire to burn and demolish enemies.


A melee fighter that can deal damage or take damage.

Arms: Battle-hardened masters of two-handed weapons, using mobility and overpowering attacks to strike their opponents down.

Fury: Furious berserkers wielding a weapon in each hand, unleashing a flurry of attacks to carve their opponents to pieces.

Protection: Stalwart protectors who use a shield to safeguard themselves and their allies.

Expansion Classes


A highley versatile class released in the 'Mists of Pandria' Expansion.

Brewmaster: A sturdy brawler who uses liquid fortification and unpredictable movement to avoid damage and protect allies.

Mistweaver: A healer who mixes traditional herbal medicine with Pandaren martial arts.

Windwalker: A martial artist without peer who pummels foes with hands and fists.

Death Knight

A damage and tanking based class released in the 'Wrath of the Lich King' Expansion.

Blood: A dark guardian who manipulates and corrupts life energy to sustain himself in the face of an enemy onslaught.

Frost: An icy harbinger of doom, channeling runic power and delivering vicious weapon strikes.

Unholy: A master of death and decay, spreading disease and controlling undead minions to do her bidding.
