Community is an American TV sitcom created by Dan Harmon.[1] It consists of five seasons, of which each season averages with 15 episodes. It is known to make heavy use of meta-humour[2] and references to pop culture and other TV shows, such as Pulp Fiction and Cougar Town. It is also known to have a cult following; since the definition of this is "a group of fans who are highly dedicated to a specific area of culture".[3]

Due to the shows cult status it has a very dedicated fandom which despite being small helped keep community on air for many seasons. In 2014 Community was cancelled due to low ratings but was picked up by Yahoo! for a sixth season which would be made solely available for online streaming. The sixth season began streaming on Yahoo! Screen and Sony Entertainment Television on March 17th 2015. Y The shows creator Dan Harmon has also revealed that there could be a Community movie in the near future, jokingly saying “I don’t know why they’d (Yahoo) turn their nose up to a movie about a low-rated show. They seem to be very naive.” [1] Even with low ratings it has always been assumed by fans that there would be a Community movie as the hashtag #SixSeasonsAndAMovie has been mentioned throughout the shows run. This hashtag also suggests that the current season is likely to be its last.
